Assessment
All those interested in availing of any of our genealogy services should begin by requesting a standard initial assessment. On completion of an application form, the client will receive from our genealogists an assessment comprising an outline research plan and an indication of the prospects of successfully tracing the family further back in time. The outline research plan may recommend further research in your own country before any research can be carried out in Ireland.
The fee for an initial assessment is €100.
Advisory service
A client who wishes to carry out his or her own research in Ireland may avail of an hour-long consultation over tea/coffee with one of our genealogists in Doonbeg. This consultation will help you to make the best use of your time during your stay in Ireland, by designing a personalised research programme guiding you to the sources where you are most likely to find results. Visitors to Doonbeg are advised that many essential original Irish records are available in Dublin only, so they may wish to include a couple of days research in Dublin while they are in Ireland. To make the best use of research time in Dublin, it is a good idea to be there on the days when the National Library is open late (and not on public holidays). Click here for current late opening days at the National Library.
The fee for this consultation is €100. Please book before arrival to ensure that there is a genealogist available to meet you in Doonbeg and please try to bring along a completed application form.
