The Cliffs of Moher are one of the showcase attractions in Ireland and, having featured in many Hollywood films, they have come to represent Co. Clare on the global stage. They rise to heights of 241m and stretch for 8km along the Clare coastline and on a clear day, their lofty peaks provide views of the Aran Islands in Galway Bay as well as the mountains and foothills of Connemara.
Although many visitors take in the outward views from traversing the cliff-top, the best view of the cliffs themselves is taken from the sea. Cruises along the cliffs run from the nearby village of Doolin, with the sailing schedule running from April - October and sailing times varying depending on tides.
