The Lodge at Doonbeg is located a short distance from the mall village of Doonbeg, County Clare. Doonbeg is also relatively central to a number of important regional locations; it lies approximately seven miles from Kilkee and Kilrush (the two main towns in the region) and thirty minutes from one of Ireland’s favourite surfing spots, Lahinch.
Overlooked by the ruins of a Norman tower house, the central point of the village is an old stone bridge which crosses a river that bears the village’s name. Located in the diocese of Killaloe, there is one Roman Catholic church in the village, and several pubs (Madigan’s, Tubridy’s, Comerford’s, Morrissey’s and the Igoe Inn).
In terms of transport, Doonbeg is within an hour of Shannon International Airport and Dublin is slightly further afield.
