Joe Russell
Managing Director
Joe Russell has been Managing Director of Doonbeg for the past 10 Years, having previously worked at luxury hotels in both the UK and Ireland. With over 250 employees working at Doonbeg Joe's working day is varied. "I love meeting guests and understanding their expectations be it their holiday, a business meeting or a celebration. Our customers always remark on the "people" at Doonbeg. It is a pleasure to work with them every day".

Greg Budzyn
Executive Head Chef
Greg has been a member of the team at Doonbeg for over 6 years. Having relocated from Poland with his family he has enjoyed immense success in his career at Doonbeg. Budzyn's creativity and inventive techniques are rooted in his belief in using local produce of exceptional quality.His Trail blazing use of seasonal ingredents in evident thoughout his carefully chosen menu's. Greg produces a dining experience to remember.

Edmund O' Dwyer
Food & Beverage Manager
Edmund joined The Lodge at Doonbeg in July 2011 following a number years spent in luxury hotels in Ireland. He is renowned for always being in good form, laughing and joking with guests and colleagues. Edmund a graduate from Shannon College of Hotel Management (2001) has recently been appointed Food & Beverage Manager. “Every day has a new set of challenges – as good a set of challenges as anyone could wish for. Things are changing by the second.”.

Brian Shaw
Head Golf Professional
Doonbeg’s golf pro is renowned as much for his stories as he is for his golf skills. No matter where in the world a guest comes from Brian is sure to know a pub or restaurant close by. Brian has been at Doonbeg for almost 12 years. He started work at Doonbeg when the golf club was in early development. “You meet so many different people from all parts of the world in my game. It’s really interesting. I have made many great friends over the years at Doonbeg.”

Ray Kearney
Sales & Marketing Director
Ray Kearney has been Sales and Marketing Director since January 2013, having joined Doonbeg in 2009 in the role of Marketing Manager. Ray leads a team of 5 in Ireland & the US who faciliate customer events at Doonbeg. "I am a self-professed lover of Doonbeg. The place is simply incridible. Its a very different experience from a traditional hotel. The location is beyond compare- the ocean astounds me every day, the quality of Doonbeg impresses me on a constant basis."

Margaret Nagle
Business Development Manager
Margaret brings to Doonbeg over twenty years in the Hotel Industry. Having graduated from the renowned Shannon College she started her career with Jury’s Doyle Hotel Group. Margaret has worked in a variety of positions within the hotel industry in both Ireland and the UK. “Working with the customer to ensure they choose the precise elements, of the Doonbeg experience for their needs is very rewarding. Getting the balance right is an intricate puzzle we work with every day.”

Golf Manager
A keen golfer, playing off 6 Kevin understands the avid golfer’s needs and expectations. “Links golf played in tough conditions are a true test of your golf skills. For me there is nothing that can match the feeling of connecting sweetly with the ball and dropping it a couple of feet from the pin. Particularly when your partner is in the bunker at the edge of the green!”

Spa Manager
Spa manager Niamh, like many other has been at Doonbeg for over 8 years. In that time the Spa has won numerous awards including Conde Nast Hot List Spa in 2007. Having started her career in interior design a move to the west coast meant a new path in an entirely different direction. “Our emphasis is always on customer’s needs. When you are dealing with skin care and relaxation you need to be looking at new methods and new products on a constant basis.”

Corporate & Member Services Director
Dublin native Therese has worked at Doonbeg for over 10 years. Therese and her team ensure all corporate events run smoothly. They also work with club members on their travels to Doonbeg and beyond. “This isn’t a 9-5 job, it’s a passion. I need to always know what’s on, where’s good to eat, and how people can get to where they need to go. I always need to have the solution. My contacts book covers every eventuality. Luckily I don’t have to refer to it that often!"
