Smoked Salmon

Another world renowned local food producer is the Burren Smoke House, literally up the road in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare.  This award-winning traditional smokehouse, owned by Peter and Birgitta Curtin, is most famous for its smoked organic salmon but they also smoke mackerel (Co. Clare’s favourite fish) as well as trout. They have two  different styles of smoke, hot and cold and are always trying new flavour combinations with their such smoked fish such honey, whiskey and fennel smoked salmon and  mustard seed, herbs, paprika and black pepper smoked mackerel.
