The Burren

The Burren is a vast, limestone plateau that sprawls over one hundred square miles of the North Clare landscape. The smallest of six national parks in Ireland, the Burren has an unusually temperate climate that incubates one of the longest growth seasons for flora in the UK and Ireland. This unusual aspect of the climate has given rise to a rich ecological landscape and there are Irish floral species present in the Burren that do not grow anywhere else in the country. Thus a visit to this fascinating region is a must if you are staying at our hotel in Clare.
